In accordance with 935 CMR 500.140(2) and (3) Berkshire Roots has the obligation to check your government issued identification, typically including your driver’s license or other government issued ID, as well as your Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program card if you are a registered patient with the state. We use electronic scanning equipment to help verify the legitimacy of your documentation and to prove you are legally allowed to enter our premises. We securely store any collected information for compliance reasons and internal business analysis only. We never share, sell or rent your personal information to any third party, as described below in detail. If you provide an email address or a phone number, we will only contact you if a problem arises with your electronic payment method or you have registered for one of our marketing programs such as loyalty or have opted in to receive our SMS or email communications.

There are instances where Berkshire Roots may collect, use or disclose your personal information without your consent.  For example, Berkshire Roots may do so to comply with a subpoena or court order or to comply with any directive from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.  Our server may record domain names and other information solely for internal purposes intended to improve user experience. This data allows Berkshire Roots to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of the website and to make the website more useful to visitors. We do not disclose this information to third parties unless required by law.

Berkshire Roots utilizes Google Analytics to gather insights on website usage and visitor actions. As part of this, we may enable Google Signals, which provides additional insights by linking user data across various devices and channels. This data is anonymous and does not personally identify individuals and is used in accordance with Google's privacy standards. We commit to transparency in our data practices and assure our users that their privacy and data security are of utmost importance to us.
