Winter has barely begun and it’s safe to say that lots of different sickness’ are circulating. Berkshire Roots has the perfect tonic to cleanse and ramp up your immune system! We chose turmeric because turmeric and especially its most active compound curcumin have many scientifically-proven health benefits, such as the potential to prevent heart disease, Alzheimer’s and cancer. It’s a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and may also help improve symptoms of depression and arthritis. (Did you also know we use turmeric in our Tangerine and Lemon Ginger gummies?!) Celery also provides several vital vitamins and minerals. It has vitamin A which supports immunity, skin, and eye health, and been linked to retaining lung strength as well as slowing age-related cognitive decline. Celery’s vitamin K helps blood to clot and protects bone density. Carrots are another important ingredient, not only are they crunchy, tasty, and highly nutritious, but they are a particularly good source of beta carotene, fiber, vitamin K1, potassium, and antioxidants. Infused Tumeric Tonic
- 2 cups of water
- 2 tbsp fresh ground turmeric or 1tsp powder turmeric
- 1 tbsp of fresh grated ginger
- Juice from 1 lemon or orange
- 1 medium carrot
- 1 medium celery
- 1 tsp raw honey
- Pinch of black pepper
- Optional: pinch of cayenne
- Your choice of Berkshire Roots Tincture to your desired dose
How to Make it:
Another simple one, this one is both delicious and healthy!
- Place all ingredients in a blender on high speed and blend until smooth.
